Ray Tigerman is an Arizona-based contemporary Southwestern artist known for bold paintings and sculptures inspired by the wildlife, landscapes, mythology, people, and spirit of the American West.
Color, texture, symbolism, and story run through his work. Wolves, horses, Indigenous imagery, desert landscapes, and figures of the West appear again and again, each interpreted through Ray's distinctive contemporary style.
For Ray, the story has always mattered as much as the image. Now, some of those stories are moving beyond the canvas.

October 2026, Ray Tigerman makes his debut as a novelist with A Knight on Wolf Island, a supernatural survival horror story shaped by many of the same forces that have long appeared in his art: wilderness, mythology, isolation, transformation, and the unknown.
Shipwrecked on an island that shouldn't exist, Tayen must survive hunger, violent storms, and the creatures that begin hunting when darkness falls.
The wolves are not the thing he should be afraid of.

THE STORIES ON CANVAS
Long before Ray began writing fiction, he was telling stories in paint.
His work is shaped by the landscapes, cultures, people, and experiences he has encountered throughout his life, beginning with his childhood in the high desert of Northern Nevada beneath the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
Bold color, layered texture, abstract form, and striking imagery give those stories a visual language of their own. Wolves, horses, figures, landscapes, and symbols appear throughout his work, exploring ideas of mystery, strength, connection, culture, and the enduring spirit of the American West.
Each piece tells a different story. The invitation is to find your own connection to it.
